High power optical microscopy is performed with an Olympus BX60 high power compound optical microscope body. Known and recognized for its Y shaped design the BX series of Olympus microscopes offer superior operability, excellent rigidity, and first-class optical performance. The microscope is setup for brightfield, darkfield, differential interference contrast, and polarized setups.
We have a wide selection of objectives to optimize rendering and imaging of samples:
The heart and core of this microscope is the Olympus SC180 high resolution digital camera. With 18 megapixels of resolution the SC180 allows for a digitally rendered magnification of 6000x, extending the usable range and application of this microscope. The SC180 enables our analysts to view fine details of samples live on screen with a 25 frame per second frame rate. Olympus Smart Image Averaging (OSIA) provides low-noise images with accurate color reproduction regardless of the imaging conditions. The automatic white balance (AWB) automatically applies the appropriate white balance to the images to remove unwanted color casts. The camera is equipped with color modes which allow the analyst to tailor the camera to various applications. The fully integrate ICC color reproduction technology preserves small color details with subtle color variations. Focus peaking modes may be used to ensure optimal focus is achieved for sharp image rendering. For more information on this camera, you may visit the resource page at: Camera_Infomation
Image capture is accomplished with Olympus Stream image capture software. In addition to measurements and analysis, Stream enables the analyst to capture extended depth of field images and image stitching for extended image resolution.
